POKE and the Healthy Benefits

Poke is a nutritional ROCKSTAR! 

What is POKE? Besides being one of the healthiest and tastiest foods around? 

Poke means “to slice or cut” in Hawaiian and refers to chunks of raw, marinated fish — usually tuna — which is then tossed over rice and topped with vegetables and umami-packed sauces.

When I am in Hawaii where I've tasted the best poke of my life, I will literally eat it every single day, even for breakfast!

You can consume 4 oz of poke for just under 150 calories, only 5 grams of fat and 24 grams of protein. 

Not only is it naturally low in calories, but unlike sushi, it also usually doesn't come with rice and if it does you can opt for it topped over a salad, or a variety of veggie and fresh marinades.
