"Self Reflection"

Posted on June 13 2018

Some people spend too much of their lives trying to be someone else, living through the stories of others, wishing they had what they had, looked like they looked, mimic everything about them from their clothes, to their hair.....and just about everything else you can think of.

And with social media being the forefront of everything we see these days, it intensifies all of it.

Look into your own reflection, love yourself, be you, know who YOU are at your core and roll with it, thats whats going to thrive you in life and make you happy from within. All that other stuff is just a temporary fix and is not only toxic for yourself and can even turn into envy, but its not YOU, you'll always at the route go back to struggling inside and although you tell yourself you are happy.....are you? Are you truly happy?

That's not to say you can't look up to others and be inspired by them, but allow yourself to BE YOU and you alone.

We are all unique, one of a kind, amazing no matter what. OWN THAT for all it is! Don't waste your life trying to carbon copy someone else, because

1. You'll NEVER be an original and again,

2. You'll never truly find yourself or happiness there nor will you every truly be happy for others either and I can't imagine that is a fun place to be.

At my roots, I've always followed me and me alone. I love me for all of my flaws, my imperfections and everything that makes me, me. What you see is what you get. I've spent my whole life building my own unique authentic original one of a kind me, deep from my heart and soul inside that reflects all that is seen and portrayed on the outside.

I challenge you to sit with yourself, have a deep talk, be honest and truthful and vulnerable to your very own reflection. Do you strive to be that other person, are you truly happy inside, do you wish you had what others have?

There is absolutely no shame if you do struggle finding who YOU are, but recognizing it is the first step to a happier, healthier path.
